Heein Yoon, RDH, PhD
Dr. Heein Yoon is a postdoctoral researcher of department of molecular genetics at Seoul National University. She has been conducting various researches regarding to the effect of nicotinamide, an amide derivate of vitamin B3, in bone metabolism. Dr. Yoon proposed underlying molecular mechanism of nicotinamide for the treatment of delayed tooth eruption by using the Runx2+/- murine model, a well-established animal model of cleidocranial dysplasia. She also reported that nicotinamide enhances osteogenic differentiation through the activation of mitochondrial antioxidant defense system. Recently, she is interested in research based on bioinformatics-based study to uncover intracellular changes during the bone metabolism process.
